Jane Halton joined the GBMA in January 2021 as its inaugural Independent Chair. In a 34-year career at the top of the public service, Jane has served as a Secretary of the Departments of Health and Finance at the federal level and was Deputy Secretary of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Jane has chaired the World Health Organisation board and OECD health committee and was President of the World Health Assembly. She currently Chairs the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, is Co-Chair of the COVAX initiative and was a member of the Australian COVID-19 Coordination Commission advisory committee.
